Scarborough Civic Society celebrated saving an historic shelter in South Cliff Gardens, with a photo show and guided walks.
The shelter, known only as Shelter 8, which is below the Holbeck putting green, was in a poor state, but has one of the best views of Scarborough. The Civic Society struck at deal with Scarborough Council to save it, and work together to restore it.
Now back to tip top condition, the Society held an official 'opening' with a photo exhibition, opened by Mayor Bill Chatt, to celebrate the completion of the restoration.
