TOP UK blues guitarist Bex Marshall plays for Scarborough Blues Club next Tuesday.
Her recent album Kitchen Table has been widely praised on both sides of the Atlantic, and in New Zealand and Austria.
Last year Bex completed three tours of the US and her album reached number 15 in the UK's independent roots music chart.
She recently played live on the Bob Harris and Paul Jones shows on Radio 2 and has secured a great deal of favourable coverage in music magazines.
A two-page article in Maverick in August contained the following assessment: "In the UK there are not too many female performers that possess the magic three attributes: a great singer, a great songwriter and a great guitarist. Bex Marshall scores three out of three."
Blues Matters said: "There is no-one like her in the UK."
Outlaw magazine added: "Bex Marshall is a musical tornado. This woman can sing and play like nobody's business."
Classic Rock said she "deserves wider recognition" and Rock and Reel called her "an excellent guitarist".
Art Blues Review in Austria said: "Bex Marshall is akin to Tina Turner, Janis Joplin and Joan Armatrading and her songs are equally intelligent and interesting".
Tickets cost £5 in advance from Mojo's and £8 on the night.
