Wykeham win seals promotion as Gunning and Pashby shine
WYKEHAM saw off Scarborough B to clinch promotion to Division A.
Oliver Gunning and Ezra Pashby were the star men for the village outfit as they helped their side to a nine-wicket success, thus sealing their promotion in the process.
Scarborough B batted first but could only compile 57-8 as Pashby bowled a superb spell, sealing figures of 5-6, a spell that included a fine hat-trick.
It could have been worse for Scarborough had Joe Crowther, 30, and Josh Grover, 21no, not contributed 51 of their 57 runs.
Wykeham were never in trouble responding to their opponents meagre total as Gunning fired 28 to help his side home for the loss of just one wicket.
Cayton hammered Scalby to end their title-winning season on a high.
Tom Sixsmith, pictured, hit 25, Connor Davison added 26 and Ryan Woodhead top-scored with 27 as Cayton made a massive 152-3.
Scalby were all out for just 58 in reply to complete a miserable day for the village club.
Thornton Dale saw off Ebberston in a mid-table encounter.
Ebberston compiled 92-5 as Alex Machin struck 25. Hayden Jackson took 2-6 to help restrict the Ebbertson batsmen.
Despite Freddie Heaps sealing excellent figures of 3-19, Dale reached their target for the loss of seven wickets to end their season on a high note.
Back in Division A, relegated Pickering A managed to end the season on a high note by picking up a win against Bridlington A.
Brid's Robert Middlewood, 25, and Jack Ibbotson, 27, both fired with the bat to see their side to a decent 104-6 from their allotted 20 overs.
But Steve Temple hit a fine 28 and Alex Ibbotson contributed 25 as Pickering reached their target for the loss of five wickets.
Division C runners-up Flixton suffered a surprise defeat at the hands of Hunmanby.
Flixton were back in the pavilion for just 55 as Steven Hill bowled superbly for 4-8.
Despite Jack Walmsley securing 4-20,Hunmanby reached their target for the loss of four wickets as Kieran Gould made a fine 26.
Pickering B will be frustrated to miss out on promotion by just one point despite their 79-run hammering of Bridlington B.
Tim Whincup, 30, Matthew Butler, 25, and Kieran Bowes, 25, helped Pikes to 147-4.
Brid made 68-3 in reply thanks to knocks of 28 from Tom Woodhouse and 25 from Harry Gunning.
Staxton beat Cloughton by two wickets to end their campaign well.
Staxton made 114-8 thanks to 30 from Jonathan Aldcroft.
Cloughton's Will Gibson bowled superbly to claim figures of 4-25 and he was ably supported by a decent spell from James Eaton, who claimed figures of 2-18.
Cloughton failed with the bat in reply and could only make 60-7 to fall 54 runs short of their target.
Hope Jennings made 27 in Wykeham's 54-run win against rock-bottom Scalby B.
Wykeham batted well as they took first knock, making 125-5 from their 20 overs.
Scalby B's miserable season was completed when they ended their 20 overs on 71-9, despite 26 from Joe Marshall.
