Valley's title success
FORGE VALLEY'S under-15s side sealed the division A title in dramatic fashion with a last ball win over Scarborough A.
Valley were only chasing a meagre 72 to win the match and therefore the title, but Scarborough's Callum Ferrie bowled superbly to claim figures of 3-2 to peg Valley back and set up a tense finale.
But 25 from James Ledden contributed to Valley needing one run from the final ball to secure a tie and win the title.
The home side managed to squeeze through a bye and win the league title.
Valley had earlier been removed for just 71 as excellent bowling from Jay White, 3-1, and David Ledden, 4-17, meant Valley were the favourites at the half way stage.
Ferrie's tight spell ensured a nail-biting end to the encounter but Valley came through to win.
Club chairman Simon Dobson said: "All within the club are immensely proud and delighted with the under-15s' achievement.
"Each player who has played during the campaign deserves recognition for their efforts and it's been a team effort. We are hopeful the core of the team continues to develop."
