Trafalgar dig deep for draw at Newlands
CHAMPIONS Trafalgar had to battle back from a goal behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw at Newlands.
A Paddy Mancrief header put Newlands ahead after only 20 minutes, but Martin Cooper marked his debut with an equaliser, lobbing his shot over the Newlands keeper.
A minute before half-time Lee Cappleman restored Newlands' lead with a thumping 30-yard shot.
Ten minutes after the interval Newlands were reduced to 10 men when Jamie Gallagher was shown the red card for a professional foul, and just after the hour mark player-manager Joel Ramm earned a point for Traf with a header from Nick Beal's cross.
Newlands' 10 men hung on for a deserved point, with Matty Griffiths their star man.
Leaders Star eased to a 10-1 home win against United Sports.
