Tennyson edge goals thriller

Tennyson 5 (Laing 3, Watson pen, Drake) FC Rosette 4 (Logan 3, L Dennis)

Rosette's promotion hopes were dealt a blow after this thrilling encounter.

A brace of Ian Laing goals seemed to have guided Tennyson to the points in the first half, but Rosette soon hit back after the break with Bill Logan netting.

Tennyson regained the initiative with Chris Watson netting from the spot and Laing firing home his third.

Logan's second and a Lee Dennis strike again brought Rosette back into it, only for Karl Drake to make it 5-3.

Logan struck again to trim Tennyson's lead back to one and the former Scarborough Athletic man looked to have levelled in the final seconds, but his lob bounced inches wide of the target.

Westover Wasps 7 (Watson 4, Joe Cairns, Locke, Hanham) Filey Town Res 2

Justin Watson took centre stage as Westover stretched their lead at the top.

The Wasps fell a goal behind in the first five minutes, but two goals in quick succession from Joe Cairns and Dan Locke moved Westover ahead.

Chris Hanham and Watson then put Westover 4-1 up, only for Filey to fight back and trim the cushion back to two goals.

Watson then seized control with another three goals as Westover powered to victory.

Rillington 2 (A Turnbull, Newell) Eastfield Res 1 (Hollingsworth)

Eastfield suffered a surprise defeat at the hands of lowly Rillington.

The Eastfield lads could have been well clear in the early part of the game, with Luke Purvis hitting the bar just one of several chances they created.

Rillington did bag the lead through Ady Turnbull, only for Stuart Hollingsworth to head Eastfield on terms.

Parity lasted just seconds as Adam Newell charged free to move Rillington back in front.

Purvis went on to miss two more one-on-ones for Eastfield, who had Arran Wright in fine form.

Hull University 2 Edgehill Reserves 12 (Jon Cairns 4, J Coulson 3 - 1 pen, Warnett 2, Ferrey, Burling, Thompson)

Eastfield showed their attacking quality with a crushing defeat of basement boys Hull Uni.

Things were tight until the break, as single goals from Jon Cairns and John Coulson moved Edgehill just 2-1 ahead.

They charged away after that with Cairns and Coulson adding three and two more respectively.

Sub Phil Warnett's brace, and single goals from Martyn Ferrey, Matty Burling and Jimmy Thompson completed the rout.

Cayton Cors Res 1 (Venner) Star2b 1 (Greening)

Cayton and Star2b shared the points after this battle, with 16-year-old sub Tom Venner scoring for the former. Joe Greening struck Star's goal.
