Skipper Ingham targets top-four finish

SCARBOROUGH skipper Nick Ingham is eyeing a top-four finish in Yorkshire One this campaign.

And the captain wants his side to get off to a winning start when they play host to Dinnington on Saturday (3pm).

Ingham said: "We finished mid-table last season and we want to improve on that this campaign and I feel a top-four place is achievable.

"We have been working extremely hard in pre-season and the addition of Craig Farrell could be the catalyst for us pushing on.

"He has a lot of experience in rugby league but he has brought in lots of fresh ideas to the side and he is a very talented player.

"He will give us the link between the forwards and the backs that we need and I believe with him on board we can have a very strong season."

Scarborough played Dinnington at home on the opening day of the last campaign and won with a late try from Harry Domett with just 20 seconds remaining.

Ingham added: "It was an exciting game but hopefully we can win by a more convincing scoreline this time round."

Coach Dave Beck is also relishing the new Yorkshire One campaign.

He said: "There is a fresh feeling around the squad and we are looking forward to getting going.

"We get tremendous support at Silver Royd and it all looks set for a fine afternoon of rugby and we are aiming for a good win."
