Scarborough Athletic out of the title race
SCARBOROUGH Athletic boss Brian France felt badly let down by his side after their dismal 4-1 defeat at Hallam.
Boro's NCEL Premier promotion bid now looks to be in tatters after the defeat in the South Yorkshire fog.
Athletic did take the lead but a crumbling defensive performance gifted Hallam a comfortable win.
France fumed: "I'm just really disappointed by my players.
"They did really well in our last game against Whitby, but the performance against Hallam was just shocking.
"We took the lead and relaxed because we thought that we'd done enough to win the game. You can't afford to do that against any side.
"Defensively we were appalling, we didn't chase anything down and because of that they were gifted three goals.
"If we perform like that against Bridlington Town tomorrow night then we are going to be in a lot of trouble.
"I'll shake the team up if I have to, I'm not having players thinking that they are better than they are. If that's the case then they'll be heading down the road."
