Top team display a winner for Scarborough RUFC
A SUPERB team display upset the formbook and saw Scarborough pull off a tremendous 13-8 Yorkshire One win at high-flying Bradford Salem.
It was the West Yorkshire side's first home defeat of the season, and Scarborough's first victory at the ground for many years.
"The win was based on a fantastic team display - from one through to 15, and by the replacements as well," said delighted skipper Nick Ingham.
"Bradford are a good team with a tremendous home record but we would not be denied on Saturday.
"Our defence - in the backs and forwards - was outstanding. Bradford were camped near our line for about 10 minutes during one spell but they did not break us down.
"Our defensive record this season is second only to leaders Wheatley Hills and that determination was to the fore at Bradford.
"The win will put us in great heart for another tough away match at Sheffield this coming weekend."
Malton & Norton are also celebrating after a great 20-14 success at Dinnington, which gives them hope of moving out of the bottom two in Yorkshire One.
Yorkshire One results: Bradford Salem 8 Scarborough 13, Castleford 10 Sheffield 6, Dinnington 14 Malton & Norton 20, Skipton 21 Selby 24, Wheatley Hills 17 Keighley 9, Yarnbury 17 Bridlington 19, York 17 Heath 28.
