Australian full-back Rob James, who shone in Scarborough’s 25-7 home win against North Ribblesdale, was delighted with the hosts’ display.
“In the conditions we looked to attack with ball in hand and I backed myself to take on players coming from deep. It was great to open the scoring and with a bit of luck perhaps I could have had more. “
He added: “When we lost Tom Harrison to injury early on, Marcus Edwards stepped up to the plate and had a great game and we really pressurised their defence. When we had defending to do Luke Raines really got stuck in and his enthusiasm is infectious. Nino Cutino was really up for it following his injury and his try was awesome, sheer power.
“Losing Tom is a real blow and we missed his goal-kicking however we are really gelling now and are a pretty close-knit bunch.
“We’ll be out on the training paddock this week preparing for the visit of Pocklington at Silver Royd this week.”
