EDDIE Rakanui's run of misfortune has continued over the summer months.
Scarborough Rugby Union club’s youth development officer has had a problem-filled time since joining up with the club last year.

His latest predicaments involved a trip to Glastonbury Festival and a holiday in the Spanish town of Pamplona, famous for the bull run through the streets.

He said: “We went to Glastonbury first and I couldn’t go the whole weekend without having my camera stolen.

“Then in Spain I went on the first bull run, which was chaos. I came out of there with a split head, a broken nose and a black eye.

“Despite the injuries we had a great time over there, it was absolutely brilliant. The only problem is when the bulls come down the street.”

This follows on from the Kiwi ace having his passport and luggage stolen before he even arrived in the country last year. He was also a regular on the treatment table, with knocks to his ribs and his knee among others.

Eddie added: “I have a happy-go-lucky kind of attitude really, so if things like this happen then they happen. Having said that, it would be nice to have a bit more luck in the coming year.”
