Brian scoops Carpvale win

By virtue of the two 100lb plus nets banked during the club's 14 peg match, Carpvale's front pond has to date proved to be the most productive fishery by Westlands AC this year.

Top rod Brian Pallister headed a frame of noteworthy weights with a colossal 138lb 14oz mainly due to his expertise at presenting paste on the hook via the long pole.

Carp to 8lb fell readily to this fruitful approach which is becoming increasingly popular among the local match fraternity.

Initial groundbait and regular introductions of pellets kept the fish focused while Brian very effectively offered hookbait at 13 metres close to the island at peg 64.

His efforts opened up an impressive 32lb lead over his nearest rival Mark Tierney who also broke the 100 pound barrier with a respectable 106lb 14oz finish.
