Jennings bags four for Phoenix
LIAM Jennings helped himself to four goals as his Phoenix under-14s side clinched a 4-1 win at title-chasing Scholes Park Raiders.
Tommy Wilson, Matty Rowley and Nathan Harding were also on target for Phoenix who put in an excellent level of work throughout the game and played some attractive football which was pleasing on the eye.
Ben Watson, Jack McFarlane, Lloyd Henderson, Aaron Lilley and Jackson Jowett all impressed with top displays for the victors.
Scholes keeper Josh Allen had a decent game despite the result.
FC Seamer missed out on the opportunity to go second in the table when they lost out 2-1 at home to Hunmanby Juniors.
A depleted Seamer side created some early chances with the best falling to Michael Fardoe.
He lost his footing at a crucial time though and was unable to capitalise on the opportunity.
Hunmanby were ahead in the 12th minute and that was the only goal of the first half.
Seamer were back on level terms when Josh Venner angled his shot past the Hunmanby keeper with skill and accuracy.
Hunmanby regained the lead when they were awarded a penalty which was well taken.
Seamer tried their best to find an equaliser but it just was not to be.
Liam Sellers claimed the man of the match accolade for Seamer.
