Forward flair thrills France - COMMENT ON THIS STORY
BORO supremo Brian France was thrilled by his side's performance after a 5-2 home demolition of Liversedge.
In a display of attacking brilliance, Boro bossed the sixth-placed side from Cleckheaton, with strikers Ryan Blott and Craig Hogg blasting two apiece for a win that takes Athletic back up to third in the Northern Counties East League premier division.
France said: "Our forward play was fantastic and some of the attacking movement was the best we have played in weeks.
"Dave Ricardo came in and gave us some balance which allowed the other midfielders to bomb on and support the front two.
"They all linked up well, and the goals were a pleasure to watch."
It was a far cry from the previous performance at Shirebrook last week which resulted in a 4-3 defeat, and the manager revealed he gave his players some home truths during the week.
"I told the lads to stop feeling sorry for themselves," said France.
"They were downbeat after three losses, but they need to realise they have to work hard for the wins.
"They can't start games thinking they are going to beat the lower-placed teams easily.
"Every game is a tough one - we've lost to four of the bottom six teams this season - and the players' heads need to be right for every match.
"That was evident in the win on Saturday - they looked proud to play for Scarborough Athletic. That's how they should feel because I am very proud to manage the club."
Despite the striking prowess of Blott and Hogg, who now have 22 goals between them this season, France is looking to add another goalscorer to his options.
The club have put in a seven-day notification to Barton Town for striker Rob Northen, who only joined the Humberside club from Winterton Rangers at the start of this month.
Northen was the NCEL top scorer in the 2007-08 season when Winterton won the premier division, notching 43 times in all competitions.
He played alongside Boro's new signing Ricardo in that successful side.
France hopes that the signing will be made in time for the visit of Maltby Main in two weeks time, which is Boro's next match as they have a blank Saturday this weekend.
