Whitby's reprieve - COMMENT

WHITBY Town's stay in the Unibond Premier was confirmed last night at a league board meeting.

Cammell Laird's appeal against their relegation was turned down at an FA hearing yesterday afternoon.

The Merseyside club had originally been relegated by the league due to ground grading rules.

This means that Cammell Laird drop into one of the first divisions and the Blues, who finished in the drop zone, remain in the league's top flight.

This is a huge boost to returning manager Harry Dunn, who took over the role earlier this month following his departure from Blue Square North side Blyth Spartans.

Dunn grabbed the reins from Graham Clark, who left the club after another disappointing season at the Turnbull Ground.
