Weaver lands boss' role at Harrogate
FORMER Scarborough FC defender Simon Weaver has been appointed as the new manager of Harrogate Town.
After giving Weaver his first path into management, Town chairman Bill Fotherby said: "Simon's enthusiasm and fresh ideas were music to my ears.
"We are entering a new era at Harrogate Town, and what better start could we have than a young energetic man who is also setting out on a new era in his life.
"Simon is taking on a big job at Harrogate Town, but he will be up to the task.
"He will put his own style and stamp on the job, and he will take us up to the Conference Premier."
Weaver, who spent a season at the McCain Stadium during their last term in the Conference, started his playing career at Sheffield Wednesday and was released at the age of 20, moving into non-League football with Ilkeston Town.
