Cappleman spot on for Edgehill in thrilling win at Seamer Sports
Seamer Sports 3 (Lawton, Charlton, Love) Edgehill 4 (Cappleman 2, 1 pen, L Watson, B David) LEE Cappleman scored a dramatic last-minute penalty to hand Edgehill all three points.
Seamer went in front after Gary Lawton latched onto a long ball and finished and that was the only goal of the first half.
And it was hosts Seamer who extended their lead just a minute into the second half when Andy Charlton registered.
Edgehill came back and made it 2-1 when Ben David found the back of the net following a goalmouth scramble.
It was soon all square when Cappleman finished from the edge of the penalty box.
Seamer were not done and regained the lead when Craig Love hit a low drive but once again the scores were levelled when Leigh Watson tapped in with five minutes remaining.
The visitors were awarded a penalty in the last minute when Charlton handled and Cappleman stepped up to finish, netting all three points for his team.
Edgehill boss Alec Coulson said: "In the first half we played the worst we have in years and it was not acceptable.
"We had words at half-time and played some better stuff and credit the lads for keeping going until the final whistle.
"Substitute Aaron Jenking had a fine game for us playing wide on the right."
Ayton 3 (Carter 2, Davis)
Newlands 1 (Hakings)
Striker Howard Carter bagged a brace as fast-improving Ayton produced a polished home performance to get the better of Newlands.
Newlands went a goal ahead when Jack Hakings headed home a Nick David corner and they had further chances to extend their lead.
But Ayton were back on level terms at the break after Carter thundered one in from 15 yards.
The home side were then 2-1 up when Josh Davis turned neatly and finished, then Carter wrapped things up after some good build-up play.
Ayton player-boss Alex Hamilton said: "We played really well today and deserved to win the match.
"Carl Sample had an excellent game for us at right-back but most of the team had a good game."
Eastfield 5 (McCoubrey 2, Tate, Till, Price)
Fishburn Park 0
Eastfield dominated on home turf to claim maximum points.
In a game in which Nigel Salt's side were 3-0 up at the break Drew McCoubrey bagged a brace.
Kris Tate, Nathan Till and Danny Price were also on target for the winners.
Salt said: "We are delighted to have got the three points and played some decent stuff.
"Kris Tate was excellent in midfield and made things happen."
West Pier 0
Hunmanby United 0
Champs Pier were left disappointed after Hunmanby held them to a stalemate.
The closest Pier came to scoring was when Mark Vasey hit the woodwork but Hunmanby keeper Jon Hyde had an inspired afternoon.
Pier manager Andy Spivey said: "It was just one of those days when we were never going to score.
"Our goalkeeper Scott Wardman had nothing to do."
Scalby 1 (Morton)
Cayton Cors 2 (Mackenzie, Fryirs)
Cayton battled from a goal down to emerge as victors.
Scalby were a goal to the good at the break thanks to a strike from Leo Morton, but Cayton hit back through young striker Tom Mackenzie.
And with 15 minutes left Cayton sealed the win when Neil Fryirs found the back of the net following a scramble.
Central defender Josh Clayton stood out for Shaun Rennison’s Cayton charges.
