Brennan happy with Athletic progress
ENJOYING THE CHALLENGE ... Boro Reserves boss Steve Brennan
SCARBOROUGH Athletic Reserves manager Steve Brennan insists he is still enjoying his role at the club, despite the extra challenges that have presented themselves this season.
Athletic’s second string have had the added pressure of derby clashes against Scarborough Town, while also trying to win promotion from the Humber Premier division one at the same time.
But Brennan isn’t fazed by the task, and is delighted with how things are progressing at the club after seeing Wilf Dinsdale make the step up to the first team.
Brennan said: “I’m still loving the job. It’s been tougher competing for players this season with Town coming onto the scene, but I think we’re doing well.
“Seeing Wilf step up to the first team just shows that we’re serving our purpose.”
Brennan hopes to have at least one fresh face for their clash at the weekend, having put seven days in for one player and approached another from the local leagues, while Callum Reid has joined Snainton to get some minutes in.
He added: “It’s not a closed door for Callum. He just needs to get some more playing time in. We’re hoping to add at least one new player by the weekend too.”
