Edgehill in second win

EDGEHILL made it two wins out of two in the Evening News Saturday League first division last night when they defeated champions Eastfield 5-0.

Edgehill were ahead after 30 minutes when they were awarded a penalty for a foul by Matty Drury on Ricky Greening which saw Drury sent-off.

Lee Cappleman stepped up and stuck the spot-kick away.

The lead was doubled early in the second half when Paul Watson set up Cappleman for his second.

The third came after good work from man of the match Ben David allowed Greening to smash home.

Dave Bell wrapped things up with two late headers.

Scalby drew 3-3 with Newlands in a thrilling clash in which Scalby took the lead through Adam Stride and were 2-0 ahead through Craig Rackham.

Newlands hit back and went 3-2 up with efforts from Sean Exley (two) and Ben Luntley but Scalby battled back with Rackham heading home a Daniel Gregory centre to level the match.

Paul Provins bagged a brace as West Pier beat Sherburrn 5-1. Sam Hyde, Mike Hartnett and Mark Vasey also registered for Pier and Sam Kay for Sherburn.
