DOUBLE SHOCK as Reid and Gray quit Athletic - COMMENT ON THIS STORY
KEEPER Arran Reid and striker Danny Gray have both quit Scarborough Athletic.
Gray is set to join NCEL Premier rivals Pickering Town, while Reid has become so disillusioned by the set-up at Boro that he has decided to walk away from the club.
Both players were an integral part of Boro's NCEL first division championship-winning side of last season.
They follow midfielder Rob Ellis and full-back Paddy Miller, who have also exited in the past fortnight.
A disappointed Reid said: "I just don't understand it all. I want to stay and play for Scarborough because the potential of the club is unbelievable, but because of how I've been treated I have just had enough of it.
"I am fit as a fiddle at the moment. I played in the local league on Saturday, but the manager Brian France hasn't been in touch with me.
"I could have gone to Selby but I wanted to stay at Scarborough and Brian wanted me to stay, but since then I haven't really spoken to anyone.
"I don't really understand what is going on, but I don't want to be messed around again, like I was earlier this season when Dave Bramley came back to the club.
"I think that Brian France appears to have his favourites and if you're not from Hull your face doesn't seem to fit here."
