Harome trip for Forge Valley

FORGE Valley face a difficult task if they want to progress in the 2010 Npower Village Cup.

Valley have been drawn away at Harome, last year's North Yorkshire (North) Area winners, in a match scheduled for Sunday May 9. Valley made it to the area final in 2008.

Last season Harome lost out in the last 16 of the national stages to Streethouses, who were beaten by six runs by Glynde & Beddingham in the Lord's final.

Valley secretary and all-rounder Simon Dobson said: "Harome is one of the toughest fixtures we could have faced, particularly away."

The last time the sides met in the competition was back in 2003, when Harome won by six wickets in a high-scoring encounter.

Fellow Beckett side Staithes play host to York League outfit Sessay in their second round match.

Ebberston and Cayton have been given byes through to round three in which Ebberston will travel to Ingleby Greenhow, while Cayton face a tricky tie at Silton.

North Yorkshire (South) draw: third round - Snainton v Woodhouse Grange, Flixton v Sheriff Hutton Bridge, Patrington v Heslerton.
