Clough turns down Athletic switch - COMMENT ON THIS STORY

PICKERING Town striker Darren Clough will not be joining Scarborough Athletic.

Boro had put the required seven days notice in before they could talk to the pacy former Scarborough Town attacker, but he is keen to stay at Mill Lane.

Clough is enjoying his football under Mark Wood at Pickering, and he has pledged to stay there at least until the end of the season.

He said: "I won't be going to Scarborough Athletic.

"I am really enjoying my football at Pickering, I get on brilliantly with all of the lads and the coaching staff.

"I'm definitely going to stay here until the end of the season, after that we'll have to see how things are."

Pikes are presently enjoying a great run of form in the Northern Counties East League premier division, having trounced Selby 5-0 on Tuesday night.
