Champ shows all the skills - COMMENT ON THIS STORY

BUDDING young football stars flocked to Filey Road Sports Centre at the weekend for the launch of the popular Brazilian Soccer Schools in Scarborough.

The launch saw football freestyle world and European champion John Farnworth kick off the schools with a host of skills and trickery.

As well as doing a demonstration, Farnworth gave one-on-one coaching and a question-and-answer session.

There were also competitions to win free kit and balls, a term's coaching and other Brazilian goodies.

The Brazilian schools currently run Saturday and Monday courses but more are planned in the New Year, with dates and times to be confirmed.

The present classes are on Saturdays from 10:30am to noon for over-eights, and from noon to 1pm for four to eight-year-olds. There is also a Monday school from 4-5.30pm for over-eights.

The sessions are at Filey Road Sports Centre.
