Beck wary of Skipton
SCARBOROUGH RUFC coach Dave Beck has warned his squad not to take relegation-threatened Skipton lightly when they visit Silver Royd on Saturday (3pm ko).
Beck’s side will be wary of a Skipton side knee-deep in the relegation mire.
Skipper Nick Ingham said: “Dave sat us all down and reminded us of our game earlier in the season against Malton where we took them lightly and ended up losing.
“They’re fighting for survival and they’ll come here looking to beat us This league is very tight and anyone can beat anyone on their day so we must be wary.”
The fixture will be Scarborough’s first at home in 2010 and Ingham is hoping a vociferous home crowd will help his side to bounce back from their 26-14 defeat at Selby last weekend.
Ingham said: “The lads are looking forward to it. We lost last week but we were a bit rusty so we’re hoping to gain some momentum now.
“This will be our first home game in three months and the lads can’t wait for it. Three months is a long time to go without home support and we’re hoping for a big turn-out for Saturday.”
Scarborough welcome back veteran Bill Freeman who slots back in at nine, with Simon Dixon dropping to the bench.
Chris Lee also returns at eight after recovering from a knee injury.
Scarborough have also announced that the first floodlit evening match, against Bridlington, will go ahead on Tuesday April 6 with a 7.30pm kick-off.
