Ayton's top double
AYTON Athleticunder-11s fine run of form continued with two wins from two at the weekend.
Up first for Ayton was Cayton Corinthians and in a highly entertaining match all the goals came in the final 10 minutes.
Athletic’s Joe Dunnett opened the scoring when he beat the keeper with a shot from the edge of the box.
Cayton pressed for an equaliser but Ayton defended well and added to their tally with an own goal.
Maccauley Lacey wrapped things up for Ayton with the third when he headed home a Dunnett cross.
Levi Fielding-White picked up the man of the match award for the victors.
In their second match they took on Goldsborough and were a goal to the good midway through the first half when Matty Louth broke clear and finished.
The advantage was doubled before the break thanks to Ben Hoggarth who was first to react following a corner.
Ayton continued to press in the second half and added a third as Aiden Spivey’s corner was headed in by Liam Stoddart.
Louth wrapped things up with his second of the game.
Lewis East, Lacey and Cameron Lake all did well for the winners.
The result also saw Athletic keeper Corey Towell keep his fourth consecutive clean sheet.
