Ayton at the double

AYTON under-12s had a hugely successful weekend as they picked up victories over both Flamborough and Holt FC.

Up first was a home match against Flamborough where Ayton raced into a 5-0 half-time lead with Jack South bagging a brace.

OJ Nesfield, Sam Whitehead and Macca Moore also got their names on the scoresheet.

Ayton continued to press in the second half and added another two goals thanks to a Callum Moverley effort and a hat-trick strike from Moore.

Ayton’s man of the match accolade was handed to Whitehead for a commanding performance at the heart of the defence.

In their second game of the weekend Ayton were away to Holt FC.

They started where they left off against Flamborough and were in front after just five minutes when South found the back of the net.

Tyler Mosely then got on the scoresheet after good work from Moore and Lewis Swallwell down the right side.

Ayton carried on pressing in the second half and added another three without reply through Nesfield, Matty Turner and Moore.

Holt then pulled a goal back before South scored his fourth of the weekend.

Holt clawed back another consolation goal but Mosely wrapped things up for Ayton to complete his brace.

Swalwell claimed the man of the match prize for Ayton following some fine wing play.

Lewis Burlinson scored the goal of the game as Scholes Park Raiders under-12s overwhelmed Hunmanby 7-1.

Lewis Hird fired Raiders two-up against the visitors before Terry Walters made it three direct from a free-kick.

The pick of the goals came midway through the half when Burlinson volleyed in from the edge of the box after great work by Walters and Hird.

Sam Loy and Declan Adams added further goals before the break to put an impressive Raiders side in total charge at 6-0 up.

A 20-yard lob from Thomas Bayes completed the Scholes Park scoring before Hunmanby netted a consolation late on.
