A pre-Scarborough Bowls Festival bowls drive will be held from 7pm at the bowls centre tomorrow, organised by Wendy Campion.
Entries to be made at reception on the night: members £1, juniors 50p, social members £2, non- members £4.50.

The week-long festival, sponsored by Prestigious Retirement Villages, will start on Sunday with an open ag
e, one-day mixed pairs event on the Alexandra Gardens crown greens and an under-18s triples event indoors.

From Monday the main over-50s and wheelchair festival will get under way with many different events, indoors and outdoors throughout the week, with Friday the finals day. Entries are up this year.

As part of the evening social activities Rob Dickens and Chris Burton are running a bowls-cricket night on Monday; meet at 6.45pm for a 7.15pm start. The catering section is now providing a full meals service until 6pm.

The indoor club’s summer leagues will begin on Monday May 19 and fixture sheets are now ready for collection at the bowls centre reception.

Following the success of the recent trip by 69 SIBC members to Potters Holiday Resort names are already being taken for another trip next April.

Names and payment of deposit will be accepted at reception, the trip is open to non-members and non-bowlers.

The May Bank Holiday raffle at reception proved popular and raised about £70 for the club.

The next raffle for club funds will be held over the next bank holiday weekend.
