FA VASE hero Craig Hogg was set to be in Scarborough Athletic Reserves action this afternoon when they hosted Withernsea in the Humber first division at Hutton Cranswick.
Hogg, who nipped in to score Boro’s winner against Sunderland Nissan on Sunday, was ready to line-up alongside fellow first-teamers Mark Griffin and Carl Wood to boost reserves boss Jimmy Reid’s outfit.

Boro chief Brian France said: “Hoggy did very well on Sunday in the Vase victory, he looked sharp, but he could be given another run-out just to keep him up with match practice.”

The reserves drew 0-0 last weekend against Kingburn Athletic, but were unlucky not to take all three points.

With France in attendance a depleted reserves side battled well in windy conditions, but couldn’t find the net.

Top scorer Michael Flinders hit a post in the second half, Mark Richardson rattled the bar with a free-kick and winger Ricky Moore tested the visiting keeper with two long-range drives, but the away side grabbed a point.
