Stakesby came out on top of a tense and hot-tempered affair to progress to the next round of the Frank White Trophy.
Despite goals from Carl Sample, Sam Rackham and Liam Scott, Sherburn couldn't live with the Whitby outfit's quick and sharp passing. Goals from Ian Smith (2), Lee Brennan, Ian Rhucroft and Simon Taylor sealed a deserved win for Chris Headlam's men.

Craig Sanderson and Ross Anderson were sent for an early shower late on for dissent to compound Sherburn's misery.
