SCARBOROUGH'S positive mind-set is playing a key part in the push for Yorkshire One honours this season according to coach Dave Beck.
The Silver Royd outfit bagged their third win in a row on Saturday, despite being hit by injury.

Both EJ Jooste and Paul White were missing from action, while the influential Matt Jones exited early on through a neck injury.

Beck said: “This time last season we may well have lost the game, but we are trying to instill a positive mind-set and it is making a difference.

“We lost Matt through injury, but that didn’t affect us at all, which demonstrates the strength we have in our ranks.

“All of the players are hungrier and keener now, that is shown by the fact that we have 30 or so coming down to training on Tuesdays and Thursdays instead of the 12 or 13 we had last season.”

Coach Beck will be looking for another successful result when Scarborough face Malton in a derby battle next weekend.
