A resolute last-wicket stand between Andy Metcalfe and Jonathon Wright denied Flixton outright victory in their division one game at Easingwold Road.
Flixton’s Chris Allen had earlier hit 59 to defy Crayke’s Mark Hutchinson who took 5-55.
Allen’s runs enabled the visitors to total 153 before they were all out in a 39 over game.
Tennyson Roach with 4-29 and James Brown 3-18 then seemed to have set up a Flixton victory as last man Wright arrived at the crease with 11 overs remaining.
He proved to be a fine foil for Metcalfe whose unbeaten 32 was the most decisive factor in Crayke’s draw at 76-9.
Wright’s contribution was an invaluable 2 not out.
Studley Royal’s long journey to Scarborough 2nds proved to be a great disappointment as only 20 overs of play were possible at North Marine Drive, during which Steve Walmsley’s unbeaten 26 had helped the Royals to 78-2.
Last year’s first division champs Stamford Bridge sit proudly at the top of the premier division after a Danny Hagan century set up a profitable draw at Pickering.
Hagan hit 105 while Dave Chaplin assisted with 30.
West Indian-born Leo Smith took 5-78 for the hosts while Mark Shepherd supported with 4-34 before Bridge were all out for 181 in the last of the allotted 41 overs.
Pickering lost their first four wickets for only 24 and were further reduced to 80-6 as Graham Tipping took 4-29. Defiance then followed as Steve Beal with 45no and Mark Haines 31no ensured a draw which at 161-6 narrowly failed to earn the extra bonus points for 90 per cent.
Relegation-threatened Malton & Old Malton, having beaten leaders Woodhouse Grange a week earlier, had batted themselves into a great position at Dunnington but were then denied the opportunity of adding another top scalp when the rains ended the proceedings in the 47th over.
At this point Malton’s score sttod at 219-5 due to sound innings from Jonathon Davies, 42, Ben Gill, 33, Gary Hall, 25, and Dave Bradshaw who was unbeaten with 27.
Oral Blackford had been the pick of the host’s attack in taking 3 for 63.
There was no play possible in the second division game at Duncombe Park where Clifton Alliance were scheduled to supply the opposition.
In division three, a 33-over game at Easingwold gained Hovingham a favourable draw in another game where no batsman reached 25.
Hovingham were dismissed for 91 but then successfully denied Easingwold victory as Steve Mosey, 3-20, and George Mosey, 3-16, pegged the hosts to 59-8.
Division 4A leaders Pickering 2nds had reached 45-1 at nearby Malton & OldMalton 2nds before the weather called an early halt.
