FIFTEEN teams competed in the East Riding Championship, with North Cliff, Filey, Driffield and Bridlington among the clubs battling it out at Hainsworth Park.
Hessle won the championship after taking advantage of the benign conditions, winning by five shots with 587.
Hosts Hainsworth Park were runners-up with 592, from Hornsea 594, Cottingham Park 595 and Beverley in fifth on 596.
The
best individual 36-hole prize was won by Neil Burnley of Beverley (71&67) 138.
Filey’s Ian Nichol, 70, had the only sub-par round in the morning.
