CENTENARY celebrations at South Cliff Bowling Club reach a high point next Thursday when the club hosts a Bowls England mixed team led by national presidents Angela Harris (Gloucestershire) and Cliff Waterman (Suffolk).
This is one of the main highlights of the centenary year when the Filey Road Club will welcome bowlers drawn from numerous counties throughout England.

Club president Kathleen Horncastle said: "We hope the weather is fine for this prestigious event so that visitors will see Scarborough at its best.

“Our green is in excellent condition and a great deal of effort by the members has gone into making this special match another successful centenary event."

Scarborough’s Town Crier, Alan Booth, in full regalia, will be Master of Ceremonies and the Mayor, Cllr Eileen Vickers, will start proceedings.

The match will start at 2pm and spectators are welcome.
