SOME Yorkshire cricketers will be put on the spot when they take time out from playing at the Scarborough Festival to compete in a fund-raising quiz.
A trio of Tykes will take on a team made up of Yorkshire Press members in tonight’s quiz at the Albert pub on North Marine Road (7.30pm start).

Anthony McGrath, Richard Pyrah and Andrew Gale are likely to make up the Yorkshire line-up for an event organised in support of the Dickie Bird Foundation.

Former Test umpire Bird set up the foundation four years ago to help sporting youngsters in the county who come from less privileged backgrounds.

The Albert pub is providing the facilities for tonight’s event with people invited to come along to see the Tykes in action off the pitch, and money being raised through various raffles.
