CALLUM Jefferson was the winner of the first St Augustine's School Golf Tournament.
The competition was staged and sponsored by North Cliff Golf Club and despite difficult conditions proved to be a huge success.

Fourteen pupils from the school took part in the competition with Jefferson winning the trophy.

In second place was Tom Patterson with Sam Pybus and Dave Couch sharing third spot.

Headteacher Roger Cannon said: “It went very well even though the weather was awful.

“The lads were very keen to play because it is not always the case that youngsters get the opportunity to play on the courses.

“North Cliff are very focused on introducing young players to the sport so hopefully this event can be held every year and continue to grow.

“Our aim now is to try and get more schools involved in the competition which is something we want to suggest for next year.”
