Batsmen need to help us step up a gear

TO lose the game against Doncaster last weekend was scandalous on our part as we should had claimed a comfortable victory.
Spinner James Finch bowled exceptionally for us to claim five wickets for 33 runs and his display was probably the highlight of the game for us.
Piet Rinke also did well and although he only took two wickets he bowled very economically.
After getting them all out we were all set to go on and take a win.
But only Craig White, with 21, from the top five scored over 20 runs and that was poor.
It does not give the rest of the order much chance if the top few don’t perform and that included myself.
The situation with Craig is that he is going to play for us when he is not involved with the Yorkshire first team and their seconds do not have a game.
He will want to stay in the best shape he can and get in as much cricket as possible and it is always good to have his experience in the team. he is good for the younger lads in the side to learn from.
We have two Yorkshire League home games this weekend at home to Cleethorpes tomorrow afternoon and then Yorkshire Academy on Sunday.
We desperately want to get that first win of the season under our belts and we have two home matches which provide us with a great opportunity to do that.
We are not low on confidence and the work rate is there, it is just a case of keeping our concentration and making sure we do what is required to get some points on the board.
Tom Pateman and Arjun Kundi will be back in action for us soon and I imagine they will start with the second team who are at Hornsea tomorrow.
They are two players that if they can impress for the seconds then they will receive an opportunity in the first team.
We have to step it up a gear now and hopefully after this weekend we will have two wins to our name in the league.
