'Easter-themed' cloud spotted over Scarborough

This somewhat unusual Easter-themed cloud was spotted over Scarborough earlier this week by an eagle-eyed reader.

Damian Loughran sent this image to the Scarborough News to share with our readers.

He was out cycling on Tuesday March 26 when he took the picture from just outside the entrance to the Blue Dolphin Caravan Park, looking towards the Wolds.

"I thought at the time about what a huge coincidence that two separate plane vapour trails would cross at that point so perfectly in front of a dark cloud,” he said.

“Other more religious folks would no doubt see some hopeful symbolism that the borough will be blessed with peace and prosperity over Easter.

"I take it to mean that I will be blessed with many chocolate eggs.”
