Youth arrested after car is taken

A 17-year-old youth was arrested after a snatched red BMW Z4 crashed into seven parked cars.

The car was later recovered in the Barrowcliff area of Scarborough.

A Scarborough Police spokeswoman said officers were hunting another offender who had yet to be traced in connection with the incident in Gordon Street in the early hours of Tuesday.

The youth, who was charged with burglary, theft and aggravated vehicle taking, has been remanded in custody pending a future court appearance.
