Youngsters knead their education in bread-making

PUPILS at St Augustine's School were creative in the kitchen when they designed and made their own decorative bread.

The children tried out bread modelling with chef and teacher Tony Sivertsen.

The youngsters used low yeast mixture which allowed the children more time to model the bread before the yeast activates.

Bread modelling is commonly done around Easter and harvest.

The pupils made a variety of models including fish and crucifixes.

Mr Sivertsen said: "This was something different for the children and they all really enjoyed it.

"We are now going to introduce it to the hospitality and catering course."
