Website contest at digital festival

TECH-SAVVY participants will compete to create a charity website in the quickest time possible tomorrow.

The University of Hull, Scarborough Campus, will host the event as part of the Digital Scarborough technology festival.

This year’s chosen group to benefit is the Scarborough Talking Newspaper.

Darrel Hooper, of Digital Scarborough, said: “The volunteers such as writers, photographers and ‘useability specialists’ all have to work together to a tight deadline – this year we are giving them seven hours maximum.”

Now in its third year, the code-a-thon brings together a one-off team to contribute their time and knowledge to provide a useable, self-managed website.

All are welcome to go along between 9am and 4pm.
