Vikings sail in at school
CHILDREN at Overdale School hit the stage to perform a production based on the Vikings.
The school’s music teacher Karen Chalmers wrote the script and music for The Little Viking, which youngsters performed to the rest of the school and parents. More than 50 children, aged from six to eight, took part in the production.
The story follows Eric – the little Viking – who is left to look after his village after his father goes to battle.
The children made their own costumes and props during their Design and Technology lessons.
Year 4 teacher Linda Harper said: “It was a great production and the children all really enjoyed it. A lot of work went into it and Karen Chalmers created a wonderful show. It was a great success.”
