Two Jags set for tongue wag at festive dinner
FORMER Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott has been confirmed as the guest speaker at this year's Scarborough and Whitby Labour Party Christmas dinner and dance.
The former Hull MP became known as Lord Prescott of Kingston upon Hull when he entered the House of Lords in July. Lady Pauline Prescott will attend as the guest of honour.
The event will be on December 3 at the Crown Spa Hotel.
Whitby branch secretary Judith Dennett said: "I was helping out during the general election in Pickering and John gave a wonderful speech in the street.
"I thought he would be perfect as our speaker so I ran up to him when he'd finished and asked if he would do it.
"He said he loved Scarborough and would be happy to. We're really chuffed."
