Tribute to 'valued' worker
STAFF at a Scarborough company have bid farewell to a "valued" member of their team after 30 years at the firm.
Following his three decades at East Yorkshire Aluminium and Glass Paul Coates is looking forward to a long and happy retirement.
To mark his departure the company's managing director Paul Moss visited the Scarborough branch in Dunslow Road, Eastfield, to join staff in presenting Mr Coates with a specially made watch and some gardening vouchers.
Mr Coates, 64, said: "I won't miss coming to work but I will miss all my friends here. They have been really good to work with."
For 15 years Mr Coates was an installer at the company before being promoted to installations manager.
Mr Moss said: "Paul has been extremely valuable to the company. Everyone is sad to see him go and we all wish him a happy retirement.
"It will be strange coming to work and not seeing Paul as I have worked with him almost every day since I left school."
Mr Coates said he was looking forward to his retirement as he would have more time to spend on his interests of gardening and fishing.
