Third talk on a stress-free life by Buddhist monk

A BUDDHIST monk who teaches people how to deal with stress is giving a talk tomorrow.

Gelong Thubten, senior monk from Kagyu Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Scotland, returns to Scarborough for his third visit.

A spokesman for the monk said: “He is teaching how happiness is a state of mind that can be developed and which can transform your life. Thubten presents a different approach for dealing with the stress of our busy modern lives, and this approach has been taking off all over the UK with companies, organisations and individuals.”

Thubten says that the methods and techniques taken from Buddhism are proving extremely beneficial to people whatever their faith and situation.

He said: “By carefully looking at which attitudes and behaviours bring difficulty and conflict into our lives we can apply methods which actually get to the root of our stress and transform it, rather than simply just managing it.”

Thubten claims his classes can transform the lives of people in Scarborough and help them to become “calmer, kinder, happier human beings”.

He will be at the Crown Spa Hotel, Esplanade, tomorrow from 7.30pm to 9pm.
