Stately home to hold car boot sale
A STATELY car boot sale that attracts visitors from all over Yorkshire, including Scar-borough, will take place at Sledmere House, near Driffield, on Sunday July 27.
The event, which organisers say attracts stallholders from different parts of the country, is in its fourth year.
Already 105 pitches have been taken up, and at least another 25 are expected to be sold before the event, with stallholders coming from as far afield as Gloucestershire, London, Norfolk and Northumberland, and many more from the local area.
Visitors are expected from a wide area and organisers are hopeful of an increase on last year’s record crowd of 3,500.
Income from the entrance gate and pitch sales will go directly to the British Red Cross Disaster Fund, which is currently providing aid to victims of the earthquake in China and Cyclone Nargis in Burma.
On hand to offer valuations and advice will be Owen Nisbett, fine art valuer of Dee Atkinson and Harrison.
The gates will open at 10am and close at 3pm.
Entry is 3 per adult, with children under 16 free.
