A SCARBOROUGH hotel can now add a Hollywood wizard to its list of celebrity guests after Rupert Grint checked in.

The Harry Potter star, who played Ron Weasley in the blockbuster film series, stayed at the Crown Spa Hotel in the Esplanade.

His visit coincided with filming an advert in Bridlington as part of a VisitEngland campaign promoting holidays in the UK.

Crown Spa manager Daphne Olney said: “He was very low key, but seemed very nice and even signed a book for one of the receptionists.”

Rupert is the latest in a list of celebrities to stay at the Crown Spa Hotel following in the footsteps Ray Winstone, Marcus Pierre White, Linda Bellingham and Robert Lindsay.

His advert, which features him surfing at the popular Yorkshire Coast spot in Fraisthorpe, is due to be aired on Thursday, March 8.

Celebrities including Stephen Fry, Julie Walters and Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery are also in the project.
