Scarborough's Hollywood conman case is adjourned

A FORMER Scarborough man, who posed as Hollywood action hero The Rock to con Premiership football clubs, has again had his court case adjourned.

Wayne Scott has previously admitted three charges of fraud including two cases of posing as wrestler turned movie star Dwayne Johnson.

He was due to be sentenced yesterday at York Crown Court but medical reports on the 35-year-old, who is receiving outpatient treatment for his mental state, are still to be completed.

Scott, formerly of Eastborough, admitted impersonating The Rock when he contacted Everton FC in an attempt to obtain tickets last July.

He also pleaded guilty to posing as the star on July 26 in a bid to obtain gifts and memorabilia from a member of staff at Manchester United, and admitted lying to BT to obtain telephone services in the name of Nigel Usher.

Scott will now be sentenced in the week beginning September 15.
