Runaway carcauses chaos in Scarborough town centre

A PARKED car brought early morning chaos to a Scarborough road yesterday after it rolled down a hill and blocked access for buses and wagons.

The black Vauxhall Zafira rolled down Albemarle Crescent before coming to rest on the corner of Aberdeen Walk at around 6am.

It forced buses and delivery vehicles to be redirected through the pedestrianised area of Westborough and police said they believed it could have been caused by the vehicle's handbrake slipping.

The car was towed away at around 7.30am.
