Rainbows and sunshine at summer fair
THE SUN shone on St Luke's Church at this year's Summer Rainbow Fair.
It was a colourful event with each stall, and stall holder dressed in a different colour of the rainbow.
A total of 700 was raised on the day, which will go towards Church funds. There were also a number of charity stalls including Shepherd's Purse, the Rainbow Centre, and Yarn and Yatter,
Marion Banks, one of the organisers of the event, said: "It was brilliant. We have such lovely grounds at the Church it is great to be able to use them for our fair.
"We raised around 700, and we had some charity stalls as well. Money raised from the event goes towards church funds as we are hoping to raise enough for a big building project.
"We had lots of people visiting the fair, and saw some new faces who aren't regular church goers which was nice."
The fair featured a number of stalls selling a variety of things from home-made cakes and preserves, plants, icecream, children's clothes and toys.
Visitors also enjoyed afternoon cream teas and a "soak the vicar" game.
