Post office queues stretch down street

THE rush to post cards and parcels before the Christmas deadlines looked to be taking its toll on Scarborough's Post Office yesterday.

Scarborough’s main office in Aberdeen Walk remained busy throughout the day – with some customers having to queue out of the door.

It follows a series of closures of Scarborough’s smaller post offices over the last two years.

A spokeswoman for Royal Mail, said: “We apologise to customers at Scarborough Post Office if they have had to wait longer than normal yesterday. All our staff are working to serve customers as quickly as possible.”
